Shun me if you want, but New York Fashion Week has managed to pull me out of my polar despair and get me excited about winter fashion again (at least for the moment, as I write this from the comfort and coziness of my warm bed). It’s not the shows themselves - they’re so far in the future that they have completely passed over spring and summer and have moved into fall - but the street style.
Negative temps, snow, and wind can’t stop the dedicated men and women of fashion from stepping out to the Mercedes-Benz tents to strut in their high fashion finest. However, the frigid weather has forced the fashion bigwigs to add a dose of practicality - and therefore relatability - to their style choices. Well, as practical and relatable as you can be walking around in 6 inch heels during a blizzard.
Check out some of my favorite looks and get inspired for your next wintery outing. No catwalk required.
