Off the Grid

It's February in Michigan, which means it's time to escape the cold in search of sunnier places. Tomorrow B and I leave for a much needed vacation. I can't tell you where (B doesn't know!), but I can tell you it will be full of exploration, adventure, and hopefully, sunshine.

In order to really maximize the trip and our time together, I'll be leaving my computer behind but you can follow our journey (wherever it may be) on Instagram

Little Black Jumpsuit

When getting dressed, I never want to feel too done up, even when attending a more formal event. So when I was invited to a masquerade fundraiser this weekend, where the dress code was "evening wear with a twist," I immediately knew I wanted to trade in my typical LBD for a jumpsuit. There's just something so effortlessly sexy about a jumpsuit (especially one with a low plunging neckline).

A great alternative to a dress, a jumpsuit provides a similar ease, but definitely amps up the cool quotient. Plus, you have the added benefit of it being a one-and-done outfit. One stand out piece, minimal accessories needed - every lazy girl's dream.

Winter Heat Wave

I know the East Coast is still recovering from winter storm Jonas, but here in Detroit, it's been in the 40s, the sun's been shining, and there hasn't been a flake of snow all week (knock on wood!).

So instead of my usual winter hibernating, I've been enjoying strolls along the Detroit Riverwalk and wearing heels instead of snow boots.

But seeing how it's only February, I'm sure there is many a snow day in our forecast, but in the meantime, I'll be taking advantage of these warmer days - and a temporary break from shapeless outerwear - by wearing light jackets and scarves instead of the usual tent-sized sleeping bag coats.
