Travel Diary: Seville, Spain {Part 2}

The first thing you'll notice as a tourist at La Feria is the explosion of color. From the private casetas to the adorned carriages to the bright carnival rides, the city is bursting with color.

The second thing you'll notice is that you are underdressed.

Unless you are adorned in your full Flamenco ensemble (which you have been planning all year), you will stand out. But that won't stop you from having an amazing time. Take in the beauty and prepare yourself for some serious eating, serious drinking, and serious dancing.

And when those become exhausting, find some shade and do some serious people watching.

Travel Diary: Seville, Spain {Part 1}

We arrived in Seville a day before the start of the week long festival, La Feria, so we took this opportunity to experience the "real" city before the streets overflowed with flamenco dancing and manzanilla wine (more on that tomorrow).

Our days in Seville were a time of sensory overload: delicious food, live music, and incredible historic architecture. A city filled with riverside cafes and cobblestone streets, Seville was a dream.

Travel Diary: Segovia, Spain

There's nothing better than a girl's trip abroad.

After spending a day recovering from jet lag and sipping cafe con leches and sangria in Mardrid, my ladies and I headed off the Segovia to check out the aqueducts and the inspiration behind Walt Disney's Cinderella castle.

Visiting Segovia was a last minute decision that ended up being one of my favorite spots of our entire trip. Our day involved wandering through cobblestone streets, sipping wine at outdoor cafes, and taking in the incredible history of the place (kinda like the rest of Spain...).

And as it turns out, the stone of the aqueducts ended up being the perfect neutral backdrop for my crazy print pants. Thank you, ancient Romans.

Outfit Post: Rock, Roll, Repeat

After a whirlwind trip to Spain and Morocco as well as a quick 8 hour stop in Belgium, I’m finally back home in Detroit. I’ll be recapping my trip (as well as my travel outfits) soon, but that requires sorting through thousands of pictures and frankly, that takes a lot of time and even more energy than I have today.

So until then, I’m traveling back in time (way back to the 90s) and wearing, wait for it… A CROP TOP. Yes, a crop top.

To avoid looking like I just stepped off the set of Saved by the Bell, I’ve paired it with a modern high waisted midi skirt, exposing just a sliver of skin. Because let’s face it, unless you’re a Disney watching tween (and maybe not even then), fully exposed mid-drifts should be reserved for the beach.

Currently Coveting: Kate Moss x Topshop

 My fashionably obsessed friends. Today is the day.

After a four year hiatus from collaborating with Topshop, supermodel, mega style icon, and ultimate badass, Kate Moss is back with her newest collection for the brand. Taking obvious inspiration from her own life, the collection is a mixture of music festival staples and glamorous evening pieces with a 70s rocker vibe.

Fringe, metallics, and jumpsuits - oh my!

I've got my eye on this LBR (little black romper) and gold fringe flapper dress, but would love to add any of the below items to my wardrobe:

Cocktail Chic
Evening Glam
Boho Rocker
Scope out the full collection online and if you're hoping to score any of the pieces, check out Nordstrom, Topshop, and Net-a-porter (but hurry, the pieces are sure to sell quickly!).

Outfit Post: April Showers

I hope what they say is right and that April showers bring May flowers, because I've had about all the precipitation I can handle this year. Bring on the flowers and sunshine and roof top soirées, May.

(These photos were taken on a recent trip to Virginia, where at least it was warm enough to rock some faux leather shorts with my wellies. I also may or may not have dragged B out in the pouring rain to trespass on a private beach in order to get these shots. Being a fashion blogger is dangerous business...)
