Outfit Post: Turning Over a New Leaf

When B and I started dating in the fall of 2004 we were young, not quite in love, seniors in college. Early on, before we pictured a long term relationship together (and before our “relationship” was even defined as a relationship), I found this note from B on my apartment door:

“I actually caught this on my way to class. Thought of you and smiled.”

Attached to the note was a leaf.

It was a time full of unknown possibility and excitement and "turning over a new leaf" became a symbol for us: a symbol of new beginnings, new adventures, and new challenges that we would experience together. And now, a decade later, when the leaves start to fall, I still remember that moment, think of B and smile.

So before this fleeting season turns, bundle up, take a walk in the park, sip hot cider, and dance in the leaves.

Then think of all the wonderful unknowns still to come.

Here's to turning over a new leaf.
