Spring Trends

The 70s are back with a vengeance and the influences are everywhere this spring. Check out some of my favorite looks this season:

1. Culottes: I've talked about culottes before and I know they have a bad rep. But they remain a hot trend and I am in love with this sleek white pair.
2. Saddlebags: The ultimate cool girl bag, the saddlebag is both practical and chic.
3. Off the Shoulder Tops: As summer approaches, you'll be seeing this silhouette everywhere. Find one wear the sleeves don't overwhelm your shape.
4. Midi Dresses: I'm a huge fan of midi dress trend, which is still going strong from the past several seasons. Carefree and sophisticated, it's easy to look pulled together in this dress.
5. Spring Leather: It's time to lighten up your leather this spring. Trade in your classic black leather for shades of tan, cream, and blush.
6. Block Heels: People seem to have mixed feelings about the block heel, but I am in love. Paired with a flowy midi dress, I feel like a 70s goddess when I wear mine. Plus, they are way more comfortable and practical for pouncing around a city than stilettos.
7. Ear Crawlers: As someone who has considered piercing holes up and down my ears, I love the ear crawler because it gives a similar look of multiple holes but none of the pain.

What trends will you be trying out this season?

Best of Etsy: Spring Edition

I love Etsy. It's like an online treasure hunt of goodies.

Need a gift? Something for the house? A new pair of earrings? Etsy is always there to save the day (or night), 24/7.

And best of all? I don't have to leave my couch. Or even get dressed. It's basically the online haven for the lazy flea market lovers of the world (me).

So sit back, relax (don't bother changing out of your sweats), and check out my fav items I'm coveting this spring.
Best of Etsy
1. Bohemian Camera Strap: I'm a fashion blogger. My camera is constantly with me. It obviously needs to look fashionable.
2. Stripes Bow Tie Dog Collar: I like to dress my dog up. Not in silly outfits (well, not usually in silly outfits). My dog is classy and this striped bow tie is perfect for classy warm weather events. Preferably on a boat.
3. Mid Century Modern Wall Sconce: To say I'm obsessed with this wall sconce is an understatement. I didn't even know I needed wall sconces until I saw this one. Now the wall above my bed seems so bare...
4. Ombre iPhone Case: iPhones are a blogger's most important accessory. Of course we need multiple cases depending on our outfit. Right??
5. Gold Twig Ring: Earthy and simple. This ring is the perfect wear-with-anything accessory.
6. Leather Bike Growler Cozy: All I want to do is ride my bike all over the city and have picnics. How else can I transport my microbrew?
7. Yellow Hammock Chair: Can I please spend the afternoon daydreaming and getting lost in a novel in this hammock chair? Keep it on the porch in the summer and move it inside during the winter months.
8. Canvas Messenger Bag: I'm not in school anymore, but that doesn't mean I don't need a messenger bag for those days when I have to haul my laptop and books to a coffee shop. I particularly love the Moroccan details on this one.

Currently Coveting: {10 Spring Essentials}

Congratulations, we did. We officially survived the Polar Vortex.

Even though it may not feel like it here in Detroit, tomorrow marks the official start of Spring. That means whether Old Man Winter cooperates or not, I am putting away my bulky sweaters and oversized coats and preparing my closet for higher temps.

As the weather warms up (it will eventually warm up, right?), these are the 10 items I’ll be incorporating into my look this spring.

Spring Essentials

1. Crossbody Bag: The perfect hands-free bag for spring bike riding and Riverwalk strolls.
2. Chambray: A wardrobe staple, the chambray shirt is the perfect layering piece. Wear over a spring dress instead of a denim jacket or pair with white denim for a casual look.
3. Statement Sandals: The to-the-knee gladiator version I’ve picked may be too bold for some, but don’t miss out on the chance to wear a statement sandal that doesn’t involve a heel.
4. Python Print: This is the animal print of the season. Whether you go bold with a pant or more subdued in your accessories, be sure to incorporate this into your look.
5. Parka: A must during the rainy spring season, this necessity will keep you dry while staying chic.
6. Midi skirt: Last year, these skirts started popping up all over the place and they’re not going anywhere. This demure skirt is the silhouette of the season.
7. Floral: Spring means florals. This is no surprise to anyone. Try the print in a more casual way, like this floral shirt dress.
8. Crop Top: I know, I know. I’m 30 years old. Am I seriously recommending that women invest in crop tops? I am. Paired with ladylike pieces (try it with a highwaisted midi skirt), this 90s throw back piece is given a whole new life. As soon as the snow melts, I’ll be showing you my favorite ways to style a crop top and not look like a tween at a Miley Cyrus concert. Stay tuned.
9. Espadrilles: These slip ons are everywhere. From Fuscia pink to leopard print, find a style that suits you.
10. Jumpsuit: Jumpsuits are tricky. As a tall girl, I get it (wedgies, camel toe, I risk it all…). But if you take the time to find the right one, you’ll love the ease of this throw-it-on-and-go statement piece.

After surviving this winter, we all deserve something pretty. What items are on your spring list?
